Government Treasury Bills (GТB)

Government Treasury Bills (GKB) are discount securities with maturities of 3, 6, and 12 months and are issued in non-documentary form. The main purpose of GKB issuance is to finance the budget deficit of the Kyrgyz Republic. GKBs are placed at a discount — at a price below the nominal value — and are redeemed at their nominal value. The nominal value of one GKB is 100 (one hundred) soms.

DemirBank is a primary dealer in the government securities market of the Kyrgyz Republic and offers customers a wide range of services for trade and investment operations with government treasury bills (GТB). GТB are debt securities of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, placed through the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Notes NBKR

The issuance of NBKR notes is carried out by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic for the purpose of implementing monetary policy. NBKR notes are a monetary policy instrument used by the NBKR to regulate the volume and structure of the money supply. The nominal value of one NBKR note is 10,000 (ten thousand) Kyrgyz soms. NBKR notes are discount securities with maturity periods of 7, 14, and 28 days. NBKR notes are issued in a paperless form.

Features STB

  • STB are guaranteed by the Government of the KR and are the most low-risk securities in the KR
  • STB are the backbone and the most liquid financial instrument in the securities market of the KR, enjoying a high level of trust from the majority of financial institutions in the country
  • The existence of a secondary market allows you to purchase T-bills with the maturity period that best suits your needs, as well as sell them at any time when you require funds
  • Placement is carried out through auctions conducted by the NBKR. Auctions are held every Friday*
    • Issuance (placement) is carried out every Monday (announcements about upcoming issuances are published on the NBKR website).*
    • The MF of the KR fulfills its obligations on STB promptly and in full

*Except in cases when these days are declared public holidays, STB have maturity periods of 3, 6, and 12 months and are issued in a non-documentary form. The placement of STB is carried out at a discount—at a price below their nominal value—while redemption is done at their nominal value. The nominal value of one STB is 100 (one hundred) Kyrgyz soms. Income is generated from the difference between the purchase price and the sale price.

  • NBKR fulfills its obligations on Notes in a timely and full manner
  • Note issuance (7-day, 14-day, 28-day) takes place on Wednesdays
  • The placement is carried out through auctions conducted by NBKR. The auction is held every Tuesday*
